Welcometo our website for the Utopia United Methodist
We invite you to come inside and
take a look at the culture of this church including its ministries, worship
services, history and the people of the church.
We are a Methodist church that is rooted in our traditions, grounded in
our faith and very focused on the future of this church family. We believe in walking the road of faith
together, reaching out to others, encouraging one another and praying for one
In this intentional community of faith, we join in worship, work,
prayer and outreach to share in Christ’s love and compassion for this
We invite you to join us in a
worship service and discover how gratifying it is to feel the power of the Holy
Spirit at work while being blessed to share the love of Christ in such a
beautiful, old time setting as this historic sanctuary.
Jeans and boots are welcome! Give us a
look! I think you’ll be glad you
did. There’s a saying around here that
really rings true, “They don’t call it Utopia for nothing”.
May God bless you as you walk your walk with
the Prince of Peace, Jesus the Christ.

We are currently enjoying a very satisfying year here at UUMC and it is most evident in the air of excitement and encouragement I am witnessing all over the place. Our attendance in Sunday worship is holding steady at about an 80% of capacity turnout each week. Our Pickin' on the Porch worship service every other Wednesday is also enjoying a steady average attendance of approximately 40 people, even through the slower summer months. A number of these folks are not regular attendees of any other worship service in the community.
We look forward to the beginning of the school year and the return of the young mother's Sunday school classes, the children's Sunday School classes and our two weekly Bible studies. Also, we have recently begun a new youth ministry for the community with the hiring of Mrs. Christie Wynn as our part time youth director! The witness of the things God is doing in our "little white church" is simply an awe inspiring thing to behold.
This year is an exciting time to be at UUMC and an exciting time to serve the Lord. May he continue to bless each one of us as we follow HIM down the path of ministry. That's why we are here; each of us and that's why "They don't call it Utopia for Nothin!"
